I live in a generation that stands for everything, lacks conviction and has no say.
A generation that’s eager to please everyone and doesn’t even know it is displeasing itself.
I live in a generation that brags about having friends but likes to be alone then, it is lonely and grumbles saying “nobody likes it”.
A generation that cannot sacrifice for another because it is not its life. Yet groans that people do not care.
I live in a generation that fights for freedom of expression then uses that same freedom to trample on the fundamental Human rights of others.
A generation that calls its men; scum! Its women; confused! And… Its life; a bitch!
I live in a generation that chases every form of knowledge yet has no depth in any.
A generation that lives for nothing in particular and can be seen every day dying for nothing in particular.
I live in a generation that wants to lead when it has never followed then wonder why its leadership skills are so terrible. A generation that’s quick to say Bill Gates dropped out of school yet forget he was more educated than the school system of his day.
I live in a generation that wants to jump up when it should grow up then wonders why gravity does its job.
A generation that loves to sow its oat wild ’cause cultivation is a work too hard.
I live in a generation that pampers bad behavior using scientific excuses.
A generation that’s raised to wear diapers. So, even though we are physically big, we are babies in the mind.
I live in a generation where girls are mothers at 13 and we don’t have time for you to be 30 to become a mother figure. A generation where boys are fathers at 14 we can’t afford real men to wait to be 40 before they take their place.
The generation I live in is in need of mentors, leaders, helpers and discipline. This generation needs resilience, focus and community. Don’t just occupy space be the change agent we cry for.
