Isaac lost his mother and was grieving her. Unknown to him, his father had taken the time to instruct someone to go find him a wife.
The specifications were laid out, Isaac’s prophetic destiny was preserved, Isaac did not lift a finger, he was unaware, he was just living through his grief in peace, but love was sent to him.
I have laughed that God does not deliver people’s spouses to their doors. Apparently, He does, because Isaac was clueless until he saw Camels coming towards him (perhaps they were on his property already even).
Two facts can coexist: you can be grieving on one hand and open to receiving on the other. That’s what Isaac did. By the time love came, Isaac was ready for a transition; he didn’t put up or fight, get chaotic or start recounting the past. He allowed Rebecca’s love to comfort him
Prayer 1️⃣: Lord, I believe you that I can make the right choice once. I refuse to keep making romantic errors like someone who does not have help.
Prayer 2️⃣: I refuse the doctrine of romantic suffering. I refuse to go from grief to grief. I receive comforting love.
Prayer 3️⃣: Lord, you don’t have to involve me in the process if you don’t need me. But, prepare to receive when you do this miracle.
In Jesus Name. Amen
PRAY FOR LOVE THAT’S SEAMLESS
Rebekah left the house that day not knowing she would be matchmade that day. She left the house as her usual beautiful, kind and godly self.
We find no reference for Rebekah adjusting herself when she realised why Eliezer came. In fact, before she knew it was a test, she had already passed.
Rebekah was ready before the miracle of marriage showed up. She was so ready and so open minded that she did not think it weird that Isaac was not the one proposing to her family.
She was so ready she didn’t need to go and pray, speak with her best friends or take time to think about it (when her family asked her opinion about leaving immediately).
Rebekah was fair to look upon but she was also easy on the heart to love.
Her transition from single to married happened in one afternoon of kindness and compassion. Her transition was quick because she lived tidy before the day of her miracle. She didn’t start learning to ride a camel that day, or how to talk to men than day.
Upon arrival at Isaac’s place, she didn’t need a coach to veil herself and descend to meet this man who was her husband.
Although Isaac was clueless she was coming, Rebekah was so prepared, her arrival did not upset his life. Instead, it enhanced his peace and lifestyle.
Prayer 1️⃣: Prepare me for the wo(man) I am yearning for
Prayer 2️⃣: Search my heart and align my character with your will, Lord.
Prayer 3️⃣: Lord, let my transition into marriage be seamless and not ruin the life you have built in my singleness
Prayer 4️⃣: Make me a blessing to my spouse in the transition instead of a problem.
Prayer 5️⃣: Even when both of us are clueless, make this transition seamless, Lord.
Prayer 6️⃣: Help us to move quickly according to your pace and not society’s pace.
Prayer 7️⃣: Defend our love story, Jesus. Amen!
