Emotional Healing for men

The Lord has been speaking about His sons this year in more ways than I can remember in the last 13 years of my being saved. 

First, it was about men being covered by love and prayer by the women in their lives. So, the men know that they are a valuable part of a family unit. Then came the concept of milk and honey. 

I am a natural skincare girlie. So, when those two words came up, I knew they meant something. If you have scars and we want to fade the scars, honey is a good product to put on the spot. If we are trying to nourish your skin and really hydrate it, milk is what you go for. Why would Milk and Honey be a priority for men in this season? 

Exod.3.8 – And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

Pay attention to three things: good land, large large land, and flowing with milk and honey. 

A land can be good for you and be too small. Many men have fought to come out of traumatic households and experiences just like Israel was crying to God to come out and their only prayer was “Lord, anywhere but here”. Now, you have the job in a different city away from a toxic ex or family member, but you cannot be your honest-to-God creative self, because, the space is good but small. 

A land can be large, but not good. You want the bigger looking organisation, the larger house etc. Something that signals that you’ve come out of lack, something that shows your haters that you made it. Although it’s large, you know deep down that it has not been good to your soul. You are rich and depressed. You are high flying in your industry and spiritually depleted. God wants you to have a good and large land. 

But there’s more God keeps insisting on: Milk and Honey. Milk and Honey will heal you from the hurts of the past. Too many sons of God are in good lands, battered. In large lands but their heart is like mangled flesh. Too many hurts that cannot be communicated. Hurts that wealth and just good old laughter have not resolved. Hurts that good relationships have not fixed. Trauma that another level of success has not restituted for. 

Notice that Milk and Honey is flowing; it’s not small that you can rub on one arm and not the other. God wants to immerse his sons in a river of healing. Even now as God is speaking to me, I believe God is raising voices for his sons globally. I do not believe this is about discipleship or coaching programs merely. I strongly believe this has everything to do with a deep-seated revival of the man. 

When Israel came out of Egypt, we notice their thoughts of themselves were small; they minimised themselves until a generation died and another generation entered the promised land who no longer thought like slaves.

The trauma and the hurt happened and you have truly and genuinely moved on but until you step into milk and honey, you will have the hurts, the ideologies, the behaviour, the coping mechanisms and the patterns of the trauma.

In your good land,in your large land, insist on Milk and Honey. 

I hope this has given you reasons to reveal your bleeding heart to God in prayer and ask Him to heal again. “Heal me and I shall be healed”, the prophet said. I know your childhood trauma got healed but if there’s another one, bring it again in prayer until the healing is a flowing river you cannot walk out of.
