If I could see the girl I was at 10
I would tell her to go out and enjoy childhood;
’Cause adulthood like marriage lasted “till death do us part.”
If I could see the girl I was at 14
I would tell her to embrace her change as an honour badge;
For change is summon to know oneself intimately.
If I could see the girl I was at 18
I would hug her for who she became in spite of hurts and failures;
She was a fighter.
If I could visit the girl I was at 22
I would just bask in the glow of her growth and healing
I would open up and learn again “how to take the bull by the horn”.
THE GIRL I AM CELEBRATES THE GIRL I WAS.
